Visiting us you will meet origin breeds of domestic animals, primarily origin donkey breeds which were once numerous but now days are disappearing. Animals are kept in free nature environment where visitors can realize the biology of an animal which needs to be feed, watered, nurtured and can be met by walking.

Walking along enlightening path of biodiversity you will encounter true meaning of landscape and biodiversity on this area:

• freshwater and brackish watercourse;
• wetland habitat (springs and ponds);
• torrential canyon Donišnica with cove;
• groundwater – caves, karrens, wells;
• soil: grey, red and white;
• vegetation and landscape: karst, shurb, maquis, coastal evergreen wood, subcontinental and continental wood;
• protected and endemic varieties of liburnian plants;
• rural architecture and intangible cultural heritage (customs) elements: suhozidi, pools, shepherd settlements, areas for shepherd festivities, grain trashing and water collection areas (laundry, cattle watering)...

On rather small area, numerous diversities are interweaving due to Mediterranean, Submediterranean and Continental climate where this region’s flora and fauna can be met in various habitats such as ponds, karst, meadows, woods.

Do not forget:

• Stay in Rezervat Liburna is open space so we recommend suitable field trip equipment (backpack, trekking shoes or similar footwear, hat, sun protection, camera and raincoat or umbrella in case it rains). Weather cannot be bad, only excursionist clothing can!
• Allow plants, animals and other sights to be seen and admired by others. Take their photo and this way afford your friends to enjoy their beauty as well.
• Let’s not destroy nature’s beauty by throwing trash. If there is any, waste can be disposed in trash cans or taken and disposed back home.
• Spring water and water habitats are important to be preserved, so prevention of pollution is a must.
